Stuff Sticking Board

I have a little boy that likes to collect things. Paper especially.  But mostly things. I, as I have gotten older, stopped collecting little things all over the place and moved into a more clean lined way of living. Don’t get me wrong, I still have more stuff than a 90 year old person has, which is the reason  I had to buy this big old house that I live in, but that’s beside the point. I don’t like stuff all over. And my husband…. well, he really doesn’t like stuff all over. ( I like to mess with him sometimes and leave a pile a clothes in the corner of the room, just to see how long he can take it.) We, I guess are a little OCD. Both of us. Well all three of us really. It must be genetic and my poor baby gets it double time. But…. he’s a kid. And kids bring home stuff. You know, like carnival toys, and dollar store toys and happy meal toys and toys from birthday parties. They bring home a giant pile of papers every single day. It gets to be overwhelming. And if it were up to my five year old dinosaur loving, bone digging, book collecting little boy….he would have his room plastered in maps and newspaper articles leading to the newest dinosaur find and examples of his handwriting, and sucker wrappers, and tin foil.  I…just ….can’t… take that kind of decorating. When they are born, their rooms are perfect. They don’t make any messes (except the diaper kind) and it’s pretty blissful. Then… the collecting starts.

Anyway, this long little rant, was to say I made a little place to keep some of his daily things. Sure I could’ve gone out and bought a cork board, but I didn’t. Instead, I made a board for sticking stuff.  A stuff sticking board. I had an old frame that has just been lying around.  I bought a piece of foam board at the craft store for 2.99 and covered it in material left over from the curtains I made for his blissful baby room. ( I know it is kind of a little “Sound of Music-ish”, but at least I didn’t make him a pair of overalls with them, and make him sing in the Vontrap family choir, right?)

Just a little idea for you all to try if you also need a stuff sticking board.

That sounds just like me! I can’t stand lose papers everywhere. Unfortunately my husband can!

My poor kiddo doesn’t have a chance. He’s already freaky about where things are in his room and if they get moved around. LOL, but the papers, they are just stacking up all over. Can’t stand it!
