The 33rd Year

It’s the lucky number year.  33.  Something feels good about it. Better than any of the other numbers  in the 30’s.  I like the look of it. When I look in the mirror I see how much I’ve aged in the last six months. There are more wrinkles. More lines.  There isn’t much I can do about it, except to chalk it up to “life’s experiences.”  But it doesn’t really bother me. Yes I would like to change a few things…. and I will get there.  I’m not overly concerned.

I normally go shopping on my birthday.

Today I didn’t.  Stores and noise were something that didn’t interest me at all.

I started out the day with a coffee in my hand and went on a “soda run.” You know…. those slow drives you take to nowhere.  Past the prairries.  Under the bright blue skies. Into the mountains. I sipped my coffee next the lake and listened to the water move under the ice. It’s an eery  sound. I let the breeze blow through my hair. I walked through the familiar trails. I was the only was out. It was so nice.  I spent the morning with my trusty friend… the camera. We haven’t spent much time together lately. It was good to get reacquainted.

And since it is Thursday…. and I did have some pretty awesome digs on… I think I will share.  I am in love with the boots. The fur inside is SO SOFT! and the gloves… yeah, perfect shooting gloves!  (If you click on the picture, it will take you to where I put it together, not all the same, but it was the way I envisioned it, really cuts down on time spent in stores and hence a day of nothing today!)

Happy Birthday! Sounds like you spent the day in a wonderful way! Love your outfit. I turn 30 in a week, I can’t believe it! Your right, I’m much more excited about 33 than I am 30…
