A Country Girl and a City Boy

The miss each other so.

And we got to spend an entire day with her.

They were all excited about the cookies and decorating, and making chocolate dipped spoons, and writing letters, but when it started to interfere with their play time, true feelings began to emerge about how they really felt about our projects.

By the end of the day, the moms were dragging. Trying desperately to catch up with one another with an extra minute here or there.  The kids had developed into wild beasts. The house had become considerably more messy than what we started with. All in all it was a perfect cookie making day. A tradition we intend to keep going until they are well into high school, and hopefully by that time, we will let them doallthe work while we kick back and sip wine. (positive thinking)

As we pulled away, he fought back tears. He did not want to leave her. I didn’t really want to leave my friend either. I miss her too.
