After the fall harvest and winter sets in, I sometimes have a hard time coming up with good veggie sides with our meals. I cán’t just go out to the garden and get what I want, and I’m not real big into the whole frozen food movement. I’m always looking for something new to try with something inexpensively fresh from the grocery store.
And this is what I found while looking around.
Basically, it’s just cauliflower covered in hot-wing sauce.
Most of the recipes I found just called for Franks Hot Sauce and that’s about it. So I went back to my trusty buffalo wing hot sauce recipe and used it instead. It worked out perfect. I threw a little blue cheese on top and BAM…the perfect veggie side dish was born.
Ingredients:
1/2 head of Cauliflower
¼ cups White Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Paprika
¼ cups White Sugar
2 Tablespoons Tabasco (Use less if you don’t want it so hot)
Blue cheese crumbles if desired.
Directions:
Tear or cut cauliflower into small pieces and bake at 350 for about 15 to 20 minutes. (the longer you cook, the softer it will be)
While it is baking, over medium heat in a small saucepan mix the vinegar, paprika, sugar and tabasco until sugar and paprika is dissolved.
When the cauliflower is done cooking, toss with sauce. Top with blue cheese crumbles if desired.
