While I was in Texas this past summer, I found, near St. Paul’s square, a tiny patch of clover. I stopped and took my portrait in it and thought to myself, “I wish this was a real field of clover” as it has always been on my list to bask in an entire field of clover, you know, like in the Josh Turner song. (Have you all noticed how long and weird my list is…) Someday I will find an awesome field of clover.
March 1st is supposed to be one of those days when the sun is shining and the birds are singing and you finally get to start thinking about Spring because after all, Easter is just around the corner and the tulips are coming through the ground outside and the stores are selling daffodils by the millions and you buy them because after all yellow is such a happy color. You get to go to the gym because you have the time for once. You laugh and have a wonderful day with your children and all your friends. But almost immediately in the morning you realize that this day is turning to crap and everyone around you is just trying to survive the next 24 hours. That chaos is swirling around you teasing you. That you won’t have time to go to the gym after all and your child starts the day by demolishing the remote so that its mother board is now hanging by a thread on the outside.
And then pour yourself a gin and tonic, order this because it looks happy, and say “meh, tomorrow is another day.” You turn on a girly movie and get nothing productive done in the evening. And it’s all good.
Today thus begins the green days. (Green my favorite color, and I love to spread it out as long as I can!) I will be sharing with you geen recipes, green clothing, green projects, green awesomeness. And by all means, if you have any green that you need to share with me, link up, email, do whatever you need to do to share the green love.
And I will share this with you…. though country is never my choice, I do like this one. Mainly because his voice is low and dreamy…
