Trains, Planes, and Automobiles

After 3 days with my friend, I finally had to pack up and leave the little town. I cried when her boys got on the bus for school and as they waved at me. We had lavender coffee down town, snapped a couple shots in the rain (which I didn’t think did any justice to the quaint little town, so I decided to share the painting I found that I thought looked so much better.) and then I had to catch a train in Portland. So, I jumped in the car one last time with the craziest driver I have ever met.  I cried again when I got inside the Amtrack station. I wasn’t expecting it to be hard to leave. But it was. It was kind of really, really hard. I kind of really, really hated it.  But I had another part of the trip to go have fun on!

I met my brother-in-law at the train station and we headed to Seattle for a new adventure. Some sight seeing and a wedding!! Yay!!! We spent the first night eating sushi and getting the low down of the town from an old friend of his.  We found out all of our activities were quite spread out and we needed to become aquatinted with Uber cars ASAP.  I finally got to see my little boy at midnight, after his long day of travel with his dad. He was a sight for sore eyes for sure.

The next day we all got dressed for the wedding and then headed downtown to the market and for breakfast. Of course my Starbucks loving Dino Dude had to stop at the first Starbucks and buy stuff.  I didn’t realize until later the t-shirt I bought him had mermaid boobs on it, so needless to say, he won’t be wearing that to school.

The wedding was at a park on the other side of town, in which we got lost in. Several times.  It was so hot that we were all sweating, hair all undone and my legs had chapped so bad that I couldn’t hardly walk. I sure felt pretty for that wedding (insert sarcastic voice here.) But it wasn’t my day, and the bride was sooooo beautiful. It was lovely, next to the tree and bench they were engaged. Just lovely. We were then treated to a crazy bus ride to the reception, right on the water, where we got to watch grandpa dance with every single girl who was willing. There’s nothing like dancing with grandpa (the first time I did, he ran me into a pole.)

The next day we toured Seattle and saw all the main spots. We had all been there before, so we weren’t too freaky about it. We did, however, jump on a ferry and check out Bainbridge Island. A quaint little town with really good ice cream and crepes. The view on the way there and on the way back was amazing.
