A few years back, I would sit and visit with this awesome lady when passing through the bank. We always talked about pictures. And she would say… “I need to hire you.”
She would say it at least once a month for a couple years.
Well come to find out, she hadn’t had family photos in over 10 years.
But then we set a date.
And she was nervous.
So was I (guess what people… you’re photographer is just as nervous to shoot new clients as you are to have your photo taken sometimes.)
But here’s what happened…..
They were 100% themselves. Which let me be 100% myself. I joined in on the sarcasm and fun immediately. And guess what. The day I delivered photos, she booked me for the next year. And hopefully I will taking her son’s senior photos this coming summer.
So it just goes to show… that I will ALWAYS let my clients be who they are. If you are goofy, be goofy. If you are serious, be serious. Whatever you are, will probably show in your photos, and I will catch it somehow.
It was really really windy the morning we took these. We were all a little disappointed in that. And we moved locations three times. But clearly we had fun. And clearly they were themselves. They even were goofy while being completely silent. I think that is a gift….
