The one in the middle there.
She’s amazing. Seriously.
She’s always one of the first people to show up on my door step with a cup of coffee and a heart ready to hear (at least the last couple years) a horror story of what I’ve done to myself this time. Over the years we’ve sat across from each other, forgetting about the hot beverages in front of us, totally engrossed in conversation about life. Mom life. Work life. Just life. We’ve cried and laughed and even though we don’t get to see each other all that often, because welllll….. life, it’s always awesome when we do get time. And if it wasn’t for the job I have, the career I’ve chosen…. I wouldn’t know her.

Sometimes the adventure is only 30 feet away from the car.
That is where I was when I shot these.
On crutches. Pretty immobile.
It was simple.
And it was still them and still me.
And we still laughed
And it was still an adventure in its own right.
And I thank them for getting me out. Trying something that I wasn’t sure I could do…. and I did it. (unfortunately the doc said no more after this.)
