Little Boots

They looked so young to me.

But I was the same age as them when I had a baby.

So I suppose they weren’t so young after all.

This is their first baby on its way. And they were happy. Nervous…. but happy. What soon to be new parent isn’t nervous though? There is no way to know what to expect. People will tell you all about their babies and what they went through, but until you’re there, you don’t know.

What I can tell them….

There is nothing like having those tiny fingers wrapped around yours. There is nothing like the smell of baby lotion or a freshly bathed little one. There is no cure for exhaustion, but sleepiness nights don’t last forever and you will miss them.  I can tell them that the minute they see them, you will never be the same. You will never love someone like you love that baby.

I wish them love and light over the next few weeks until their little girl gets here!

And also thank you to them for being patient with a photographer and no batteries and cold cold wind and cold weather. Wyoming is unforgiving at times in the spring!
