Cabo in the Springtime

It’s a place surrounded by mountains that are covered in cactus and desert sand. Where aqua waters wash on the shores from both the sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Where warm and cold waters collide unlike any other place in the world.

A place where time shares salesmen are discreetly disguised as taxi drivers.

It’s a place where two hour snorkeling trips turn into five and end with the sunset over the mountains because the captain knows that just this one time you might need to see the sunset from a sail boat on the ocean in Mexico.

It’s a place where the sun rises with the cruise ships on the horizon and the pelicans dip into the water to grab their breakfast only to emerge with “crumbs” hanging from their beaks.

It’s a place with great fishing. Just maybe not every day, because everyone knows that not every day is a day for catching fish… that is unless you are pelican.

It’s a place where people are friendly and warm and lively and happy. It’s hard to find someone not smiling, no matter how many times their goods are rejected.

It’s a place where you can get married on the beach directly in front of the buffet and have a donkey attend your reception.

It’s a place where fashion does and does not matter, it’s just a matter of opinion but young 20 something men haven’t realized mustaches only look good on like 3 men in the world…. Burt, Tom, and Sam.

It’s a place where you can do water aerobics at 11am with complete strangers while holding a corona in your hand.

It’s a place that I got to escape to for just a minute.

I needed a minute.
