When I think of the summer solstice I don’t really picture it being 70 degrees and chilly in the shade. I kind of picture it as a sweltering day, ice tea, fans blowing and bugs biting you at the picnic table while you eat. That’s probably how it is down south right now. I picture staying up until late late, because it’s the longest day. But I can tell you, I might, maybe, just maybe… be awake for 5 more minutes. It’s not even 9 o’clock.
Regardless, in between all the crazy summer activities (the dino dude is seriously on the run, literally, from sun up to sun down) I snuck in some fun time for just us. We made side walk paint. It took about 35 minutes for him to sadly look at me and say “mom, can I please rest for a little bit before we have to go again?” How could I say no to that? So I kept drawing. I have no idea how it will wash off. We used “old” sidewalk so it won’t hurt too much.
To make it, in each muffin section I mixed 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup water and 2 drops of coloring. That’s it. I don’t want it to stain.
Happy First Day of Summer All.
