Morocco: Rocking the Kasbah, Like the Gladiator

The next morning we started off on our final leg of our trip to Marrakesh. It would be our last day with Omar. Before winding our way through the top of the High Atlas Mountains, we stopped at a Kasbah. A famous Kasbah that many many movies were filmed at, but most notoriously, The Gladiator.  A Kasbah (or castle as Omar would call them) were pretty awesome places. They were like a little city within a city. They could house many, many many families. They had towers and sometimes rivers flowing in front of them. They were huge. From the top of this one you could see the top of the mountains. It was beautiful.  Before we arrived at the the Kasbah, we stopped on a hill overlooking the city to “make a picture” and out of nowhere, my husband had a snake wrapped around his neck by a crazy, toothless old man.

I probably would have not been so calm about it.

But he played along.

And then he had to pay the man for doing it and letting me take a photo.

We then wound our way through the high atlas mountains.
