Our short stay in London wasn’t short of adventure. We had a 14 hour layover in the middle of the night. So we decided to get a room in a hostel right off the Piccadilly line. We only needed a few hours of sleep, so a hotel wasn’t that necessary.
Doesn’t that sound so sweet? “The Piccadilly Line.”
Yeah, it wasn’t really that sweet.
We arrived in the middle of the night to a room with 4 bunk beds that were still unmade from the night before. Um… that was a tich gross. So we all slept in our clothes. But it was cold so I had to cover up eventually. I met a few interesting people in the shared girls room on the floor below us. One thought I had come into attack her (she was putting contacts in and couldn’t see what I looked like!)
Needless to say, it was not the most awesome place I’ve ever stayed.
In the morning light the street was quaint and charming. Even a place I would want to go back to.
And I got to check two things off the list that I just needed to see while I was there.
A double decker bus.
And a red phone booth.
And then….we saw Parker’s Bakery. We knew it was time to go home!
And we would get there. 18 hours later.
