I got to spend a couple glorious fall days with my favorite little boy, and we wore ourselves out. Played ourselves silly. We explored a new place, twice. A new quiet place where we can run and sit and read, or just go to get away. We brought a picnic of sushi rolls and edamame and ate under the trees. We built a haunted house (more on that later.) And then we played some more.
And today we took the dogs on one of our favorite hikes. I’m not going to lie… two dogs, a kiddo, and a camera on a long long 4 hour hike…a little tiring, but we kept on trucking. To the pumpkin patch. And what a glorious day it was to go to the pumpkin patch. One of my favorite days of the year. Picking out the perfect pumpkins. In the most “sincere” patch there is. We came home and read “The Great Pumpkin.” We took turns reading the pages. I can’t believe he’s old enough to read it to me now. And the thought of him not loving this day suddenly entered my mind….I hope that never happens. Will he want to traipse through the pumpkins when he’s 15 or 16? I hope so. But for now, I’ll just savor what I have.
Looks like you guys hit up Bartels Farm! Taking the kiddos there is one of my favorite fall activities.
