Sub Zero No Longer

The cold front hit us last week pretty hard with sub zero temps for several days. Like WAY sub zero (20+ below) I live in Wyoming, so I can handle a little cold and snow, but at this point is where it gets annoying. At least to me it does. Because you can’t really do anything. Can’t sled. Can’t build anything out of the snow because it will frost bite you in 10 minutes. It’s pretty much horrid.

But yesterday I woke up to a pink sunrise. And it was 32 degrees! Wahooo! No coat weather for around here! (seriously, I walked around in a sweatshirt and felt like it was a heatwave!) So, for the first time in a long time, I poured myself a cup of coffee, jumped in the car and headed out to catch the thin layer of snow we got the night before. It was extremely calm and beautiful. And for the first time in a week or so, I really appreciated where I live.

It warmed up enough that we were able to build a snowman.  (I didn’t, the boys did.) And in case you were wondering if the bird feeders we made over Christmas worked…they did. We saved one just for now.
